I hung out with Trevor a lot in university and I always found him to be clever, articulate and hilarious (usually in charming but self-deprecating way). Many nights were spent drinking and laughing way too much. RIP.

The Great Escape
I just got back from 4 great days at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton, where I produced 3 day-time showcases for Canadian artists (under the Canadian Blast banner). All 3 events were very successful and exposed me, as well as hundreds of others, to some of the best emerging acts in Canada right now.
My favourite band of the festival was Winnipeg’s Royal Canoe. I had heard their music and was aware of the big buzz that has been brewing for them in Canada, so it was great to finally experience them live. This video does a fairly good job of capturing their vocal weirdness and frenetic energy:
The best part of these so-called “showcase festivals” is discovering new bands. On my way to Royal Canoe’s show on Friday, I literally stumbled into a bar and caught this really cool UK band called Drop Out Venus. Really interesting sound – like a cross between Garbage and Sonic Youth, maybe? – and a very engaging frontwoman. Here’s a really intense track:
RADIOHEAD – CodexImprisoned in all of us, a journey
A true test of being, a struggle in all us to be human
We all possess the most raw and natural power deep inside
Standing there in the moment
In the position to live now
Temptation won’t control me
In the position to live now
We all know there is something more to our lives
When the inner core beckons
Savage and clean the body still receiving, a message
The code, the greatness
A known true cure to us all
Since everyone else is doing it, here’s a photo of my mom and I at a wedding last Saturday. She loves entertaining, laughing and drinking wine (often at the same time) and so do I! Happy North American Mother’s Day
Look what arrived today! It’s my summer project to learn many of these songs on piano. I haven’t read sheet music in 16+ years; should be easy, right guys?! #radiohead
Life is short. Break the rules. Forgive quickly. Kiss slowly. Love truly. Laugh uncontrollably. Never regret anything that made you smile.

Even as a child, I was an admirer of great artists…and had a wicked fashion sense
My first band, circa 1998. I believe we were called The Bitter End at this point…possibly Adrift.
Today I’m going through old photos and letters. This is me, age 10, Baseball all star.
I haven’t been to the Skydome since it was actually called that. After this photo was taken, the Blue Jays hit an epic home run! Thanks to @beckersadava for taking me.
